GAO
The Galactic Asset Offering (GAO) refers to a timed event during which the team sells in-game assets (only ships so far) directly to players.[1]
The kick-off point of the GAO was announced during the 15th Townhall and through a tweet that linked to a brochure containing the ships that would be offered. The brochure lists 27 ships and notes that these will be sold over a 3 month period starting September 7th, 2021.[2][3] Due to delays in development this 3-month period was later prolonged. Additionally, the team decided near the end of 2021 to postpone the titan ships to the next GAO phase.
All in all, 24 ships were released during this first phase (2021).
Waves[edit]
The initial GAO consisted out of several waves, with different NFT-assets being sold during each of them. Additionally, some of the NFT's being offered were divided into multiple batches at different price points.
Wave 1[edit]
The first wave launched on September 7th at 15:00 UTC with the release of the Opal Jet. That same day 4 other ships were released, each one hour after the other.
The following assets were sold during this wave:
Item | Date | Time | Batch pricing | Batch supply |
---|---|---|---|---|
Opal Jet | Sept 7, 2021 | 15:00 UTC | 20 USDC | 127,500 |

Upon conclusion of the first wave, the next day an article was released, detailing the first two waves and hinting that subsequent waves would follow over the weeks following it.[4]
Wave 2[edit]
Wave 2 was originally supposed to start September 9th at 15:00 UTC but was last-minute postponed by the team to 23:00 UTC to accommodate different time zones.[citation needed]
The following assets were sold during this wave:
Item | Date | Time | Batch pricing | Batch supply |

Wave 3[edit]
There was a significant gap (a month) between Wave 2 and Wave 3 sales. Wave 3 consisted out of only 2 ships and went live on October 7th at 15:00 UTC.
The following assets were sold during this wave:
Item | Date | Time | Batch pricing | Batch supply |

Wave 4[edit]
Due to delays with game development, the team decided to slow down their ship releases.[citation needed] Wave 4 was launched a month after wave 3 finished. It consisted out of 4 ships that were all launched one after another on November 9th, starting at 12:00 UTC.
ATLAS[edit]
What made this launch special is that it marked the first release where half the available supply could be bought with ATLAS directly. Simultaneously, the team moved whatever remained of their earlier waves in full to the ATLAS market as well.
- Note that in the table below, the ATLAS-batches are also shown in their dollar value. The peg was set at 1 ATLAS = 0.195 USDC. Despite assurances by Michael that they would rebalance the peg every week or so, this did not occur until the start of the 5th wave mid-December.[citation needed]

Wave 5[edit]
The final ship sale for 2021 occurred right before the launch of SCORE, starting on December 14th. It would mark the launch of some of the biggest ships and would conclude the sale of all non-titan ships listed in the initial GAO brochure. Unlike previous waves, this one would span 2 weeks, seeing releases on 4 different days with 5 different ships being offered on the first day. The last ship released was the first anomaly-class ship, the Fimbul ECOS Treearrow, and the most expensive ship to date. It was released on December 23rd, 2021.

Price Announcements[edit]
During the first two waves, the price at which the ships were sold was not made public until the actual sale started. The team hoped this would prevent front-running from happening, but discovered that this approach did not work as hoped. After these waves, the team decided to approach the remaining waves a little differently. During the 16th Townhall, Michael promised greater transparency by announcing the price at which they would sell the items before going live.[5]
Fixed supply[edit]
During the 16th Townhall, Michael revealed that they have no immediate intention to sell the ships that are sold during the GAO ever again:[5]
<templatestyles src="Template:Blockquote/styles.css" />We don’t have any immediate objective of reissuing these assets in the future. So If you buy a ship -if you got in during these sales in the Galactic Asset Offering, whatever the total supply is, that is the intended total supply going into the immediate future. [..] It’s possible that at some point in the distant future, this could be a year, or 2 years, or 3 years down the line that we re-enable a secondary sale of these galactic assets. But to be honest with you, that is unlikely. Because we have 120 ships and we will continue to innovate and create new ships over time. And there are plenty of opportunities to purchase an item that fulfills your strategy across the various ship sizes.<templatestyles src="Template:Blockquote/styles.css" />— Michael (CEO)[5]
For those of you that purchased ships over these last two drops, that is the total supply. And the only way that someone would be able to acquire those in the future is if they purchase them from another user on the secondary market.— Michael (CEO)[5]
